‘Get yourself mentors, wise advice and counsel that can help you learn as you go along, and  a work environment that can support what you have, so if you have children, work out how you can be flexible at certain times in order to work there,’ says Simon Calver, Partner, BGF Ventures and Co-Founder of LoveFilm.

‘I think the more companies that are built by women founders that have an understanding of these particular issues I think the better it will be in terms of creating a good environment for everybody.’
