A very strong positive ---- Following our first telephone conversation with Karen Jones, she immediately organised for the company Revival to visit our house and commence the drying out process. Joey the Revival employee who dealt with the total drying out process was excellent giving positive advice whilst not hesitating to let us know the true seriousness of our situation. We know that he liaised with Karen throughout this process until he signed us off dry.

I had a number of items which were to do with roof leakage. The underwriter explained that the roof repairs were to do with maintenance and so weren't covered by the policy. The consequential damage was under the excess. Although the claim was not accepted, I was satisfied with the explanation. At all times the staff were clear and helpful.

The insurance and customer service aspect of the claim was well handled and I could not fault it, however the first attempt at repairing the ring altered it considerably and unsympathetically.  The second attempt returned it much more closely to its original state and we are pleased with the result.  Whether this false start was due to the supplier or their subcontractor I do not know.  The whole process took over six months, which was not satisfactory.

My claim was of a difficult nature because it was relating to the death of my Husband who was killed in an air crash.  I initially reached out to Hiscox to ask whether I could claim for the items that were lost in the accident and I was told that I could.  It took me a further two years to get round to submitting the claim and I feared that my claim might have time expired, however, it was settled within a couple of days. I was able to make my claim by simply writing a letter detailing the loses.  There were no silly forms to fill in.  My claim submission was followed up by a friendly call, which I appreciated.  I felt that I was having a personal service. I have never made a home contents insurance claim in my life to date so have nothing to compare my experience to, however, I am very happy with the service and would not hesitate to recommend Hiscox to friends and family.

We found Hiscox immensely supportive from the moment we telephoned to report the leak in our drainage system.When Simon Loerns called at our property he immediately impressed us with his technical expertise when assessing the damage,and above all,his sensitivity to our distress,his ability to listen and how he won our immediate trust. I vacillated with this claim but Hiscox were fine. I claimed for our burnt kitchen worktop but then withdrew it as my wife and I decided to replace the kitchen entirely. I then backtracked as my wife and I couldn't face a week of disruption with 2 dogs at home and elderly unwell parents.The claim was then made again a few weeks later and approved the same day that I submitted the invoice! It was reassuring and helpful in the extreme to speak and deal with the same person without interminable menus and phone music a la call centre. Having been insured  (expensively) with another company years ago with an unsatisfactory small claim experience following many years without a claim Hiscox definitely live up to their promises - all without nit-picking time-consuming multiple page form filling. I could not recommend highly enough!

We have had excellent service from Karen Jones and others throughout our recent claims process.  This has been settled extremely quickly, and with a complete absence of fuss, to our absolute satisfaction.The simple claims process only required a quote from a plasterer and decorator of our choice, and no claim form as such was required, just a phone call in the first instance, and a covering letter with the quotes plus some photographs to demonstrate the water damage caused by a leaking pipe. I even received a phone call after a week or two to check that I was having no problems in getting the necessary quotes, and then an email a few weeks after that to ensure I was not having problems.  The only problem was getting local tradesmen to even quote for the business, such is the shortage of good people in this area!After this excellent service I am just thankful that I am with Hiscox.

I dealt with Kellie Johnson who was very attentive and sympathetic to my claim, which had been caused by an attempted break-in. Kellie led me clearly through the process, and was very prompt in putting things into action. She was very reliable and helpful in a stressful situation.The only negative in the whole process was from the Home Emergency company Evanders, who said they wanted to quote for the repairs, and kept us waiting, and then simply refused to communicate with me. They are very poor. 

**We are investigating why there was a failure in the service delivered by the out of hours glazing firm and apologise for the delays that have been caused.**

I have been with Hiscox for many years but never made a claim so I rang to ask about the procedure and was dealt with superbly throughout the process by Karen Jones - an employee you should be proud of.It was a very strange claim which Karen had, understandably, never come across before! Regrettably I severely damaged one of my hearing aids when I had taken them out to go for a swim and had put them in my trouser pocket. As I put my legs back on after the swim and went to get up and crushed one of the aids with my artificial knee joint. Karen took this in her stride and I agreed to send her a photograph of the damaged item and a quote for a new hearing aid. Unfortunately the particular Siemens aids were now not made any longer so just one replacement was not available. I therefore at Karen's request gained a quote for a pair of new ones of corresponding technology.The claim was agree and settled in a week and my new aids are being made much to the relief of my wife!  I am so impressed with your staff and your service.

Given we were getting in touch on Boxing Day, there was no waiting time on the phone and the emergency team were incredibly responsive.  It was very reassuring that we were able to get the house secured that evening.
